Plant and mobilisation

Many public works contractors build their pitch on the size of their fleet. We have made a different choice, and we would rather explain it than leave it unsaid.

ALTAVORY mobilises plant through an established network of partners — specialist hire companies and partner contractors — rather than tying up capital in an owned fleet. This is not a fallback: it is an arrangement with three concrete advantages for the client.

The plant is chosen for the job, not the other way round. A contractor who owns a 30-tonne excavator tends to send it everywhere, including where a 14-tonne machine would be faster and less damaging to the site. We size the machine to the actual task.

The plant mobilised is recent. Hire fleets are renewed regularly: fewer breakdowns, less downtime, lower fuel consumption and emissions.

The client does not pay for a fleet's depreciation. The cost of plant allocated to your project reflects the time it is actually used, and that reads directly in the detail of our proposal.

The trade-off is an obligation: mobilisation capacity must be guaranteed. It rests on standing agreements with our partners and on anticipating requirements from the engineering stage onwards, never at the last minute.
